How it works

  1. Enter your buy price and how much you invested (or switch to quantity if you know the number of coins).
  2. Type the sell price you got or are considering — or tap a quick chip like +25% or 2x to test a target.
  3. Read your profit or loss, total fees paid, and the break-even sell price, all updated live as you type.

Frequently asked questions

How is crypto profit calculated with fees?
The calculator first works out how many coins your investment buys after the buy fee is deducted, then multiplies that quantity by your sell price and subtracts the sell fee. Profit is the net proceeds minus what you originally paid, shown both in currency and as a percentage of your investment.
What is the break-even sell price?
It is the sell price at which your net proceeds after the sell fee exactly equal your total cost including the buy fee — selling above it means profit, below it means a loss. Because fees eat into both sides of the trade, break-even is always slightly higher than your buy price.
Does this tool use live crypto prices?
No. All prices are entered manually by you, so the tool works for any coin, token or currency pair without depending on an exchange API. This also means results reflect exactly the numbers you typed, not a delayed or averaged market feed.
What fee percentage should I enter?
Use your exchange’s taker or maker fee for spot trades — typically 0.1% to 0.6% on major exchanges, and often more on instant-buy or card purchases. If your platform charges a spread instead of an explicit fee, estimate it as a percentage and enter that; you can set either fee to 0 if it doesn’t apply.
Is my trading data private?
Yes. Every calculation runs locally in your browser using JavaScript — no prices, amounts or results are uploaded, logged or stored on any server. You can even load the page and then go offline; the calculator keeps working.

About this tool

This crypto profit calculator tells you exactly what a trade earns or loses once exchange fees are taken into account. Enter the price you bought at, the price you sold at (or are thinking of selling at), and either the amount of money you invested or the quantity of coins you hold. The result updates live: profit or loss in currency, the return as a percentage, the total fees paid on both sides of the trade, and the break-even sell price you need to clear before the trade turns positive.

Everything runs client-side in your browser — no account, no API keys, and no data ever leaves your device. Prices are entered manually rather than fetched from an exchange, which keeps the tool fast, private, and usable for any asset: Bitcoin, Ethereum, small-cap altcoins, or even non-crypto positions like stocks, as long as you know your entry and exit prices. The math mirrors how spot exchanges actually charge: the buy fee reduces the quantity your money purchases, and the sell fee is deducted from your gross proceeds.

The quick chips are useful for planning ahead. Tap +10%, +25%, +50%, 2x, 5x or 10x to instantly set a hypothetical sell price relative to your entry and see what that scenario would pay out after fees. This makes it easy to set realistic take-profit targets — many traders are surprised how much a 0.5% fee on each side shaves off a modest 10% move.

A practical tip: if you dollar-cost averaged into a position at several prices, use your average entry price (total spent divided by total coins) as the buy price to get an accurate overall picture. And remember that taxes on capital gains are not included — the figures here are pre-tax trading results, not financial advice.
