About these tools
Not everything needs to be productive. This section holds the text effect generators, random pickers, reaction and typing tests, and small games that people arrive looking for by name — usually to settle something, decorate a message or fill five minutes.
They run in the browser like everything else on the site, with no accounts, no scores uploaded anywhere and no advertising interruptions inside the tool itself.
Questions people ask
Can two people play on the same device?
Yes. Tic tac toe, Connect Four, Reversi, Dots and Boxes, Hangman and Memory match all have a two-player mode on one screen, Pong splits one keyboard between two players, and Reaction duel splits a phone or tablet screen so each player taps their own half. Most also have a single-player mode against the computer.
How does the Secret Santa generator stop people drawing themselves?
Nobody is ever assigned to themselves, and you can add exclusions — partners or housemates who should not draw each other. The draw is revealed one person at a time, so the organiser can hand the device round without seeing everyone's match.
What is the difference between Secret Santa and White Elephant?
In a Secret Santa everyone is secretly assigned one person to buy for, so gifts are chosen for someone in particular; the Secret Santa generator draws the names and the questionnaire collects wishlists first. In a White Elephant (also called Yankee Swap or Dirty Santa) everyone brings one gift for a shared pile and players take turns opening or stealing, so nobody knows what they will end up with; the White Elephant generator draws the turn order and tracks steals and frozen gifts, and the dice game lets a die decide the moves instead.
Are the random draws fair?
The pickers — pairs, teams, raffles, the wheel and the comment picker — use the browser's cryptographic random source, so each outcome is equally likely. The love calculator is the exception: it is a game, and the same two names always give the same score.
