Frequently asked questions
Which number ranges do the 3×3, 4×4 and 5×5 cards use?
5×5 is standard US 75-ball: B 1–15, I 16–30, N 31–45, G 46–60, O 61–75. 4×4 uses 1–60 under B I N G with the same 15-number columns, so a 75-ball set with 61–75 taken out works for calling. 3×3 uses 1–30 in columns of 10 (1–10, 11–20, 21–30): small numbers suit young children, and each card holds about a third of all numbers — the same share as a 5×5 card — so games stay short. Each column draws different numbers from its own range.
How are the UK 90-ball tickets laid out?
Each ticket has 3 rows and 9 columns with 15 numbers: exactly 5 in every row, at least one in every column, and numbers rising down each column. Column 1 holds 1–9, column 2 10–19 and so on up to 80–90 in the last. Tickets are made in strips of six that together use every number from 1 to 90 exactly once, so each call marks exactly one square per strip. Choose a multiple of 6 to print complete strips; 6 per page prints one strip per sheet.
Where does the FREE space go?
In the centre square, and only on odd grids — 3×3 and 5×5 — because a 4×4 card has no middle square. It is optional: untick Free centre space and the square gets a number or word like the rest. 90-ball tickets never have a free space.
How does the on-screen caller work?
It shows the current call in large type with the letter for 75-ball and 1–60 games (for example G 52), the previous calls, and a board lighting up everything called so far: one row per letter, rows of ten for 90-ball and 1–30, or all your words alphabetically. Next call and Undo step through a shuffled order, Auto-call draws every 5–30 seconds, Read calls aloud uses your browser’s speech voice, and Fullscreen fills a TV or projector (Space for next, ← to undo). The game is saved in this browser, so a reload continues it.
Does the caller match the printed caller sheet?
Yes, once you have generated cards: a new game then uses the same shuffled order as the caller sheet at the end of the PDF, which lists every number or entry, numbered, with a tick box beside each. Before you generate, the caller draws a fresh order from the current settings. Generating again makes a new order, so start a new game after regenerating.
Can I add a title and colours to the cards?
Yes. The card title (up to 60 characters) prints in a band across the top of every card or ticket, and the header colour fills that band, tints the B I N G O row and the FREE square, and shades the blank squares of 90-ball tickets. Picking a themed list suggests a title and colour, such as Halloween Bingo in orange. Ink saver prints the header in black on white.
How many entries does a word card need?
One per square: 8 for 3×3 with the free centre (9 without), 16 for 4×4, and 24 for 5×5 with the free centre (25 without). The minimum works, but then every card holds the same words in different places and many players finish together; with twice as many entries as squares the cards differ and winners are spread out. Repeated entries are counted once, ignoring capitals.
How big are the printed cards?
Grid cards print 1, 2 or 4 per US Letter page: one card about 7 inches wide, two side by side on a landscape sheet at about 4.6 inches, or a 2 × 2 grid at about 3.5 inches. 90-ball tickets print 6 per page (one strip, 7 inches wide) or 3 larger ones at 7.5 inches. Dashed lines mark the cuts. On A4 choose “Fit to page” when printing.
Why do some characters disappear in the PDF?
The PDF uses the standard Helvetica font so it prints identically everywhere, and that font only covers Western European characters. Accented letters are simplified (é becomes e), and other scripts or emoji are left out; a cell with nothing printable shows “?”. The on-screen cards and caller show everything correctly. The built-in themed lists use plain characters only.
About this tool
This generator makes three kinds of bingo. Numbers builds 3×3, 4×4 or 5×5 cards: 5×5 is the US 75-ball layout (B 1–15 through O 61–75), 4×4 keeps the same 15-number columns under B I N G for 1–60, and 3×3 uses 1–30 in columns of 10 so young children see small numbers and games stay short. Words turns any list into cards of the same sizes, and eight themed lists fill it in one click: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Winter, Baby shower and Classroom / ESL basics for picture-word games, plus Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas party, which list things that happen at the gathering itself (someone naps after the meal, a gift gets stolen in the exchange) so guests mark squares as the day goes on. A link such as ?theme=christmas-party opens with that list loaded. 90-ball makes UK tickets. A FREE centre is optional on the odd grids, and every card is shuffled with the browser’s cryptographic random source.
90-ball tickets follow the standard rules: 3 rows by 9 columns, 15 numbers with exactly 5 per row, columns 1–9, 10–19 up to 80–90, at least one number in every column and numbers rising down each column. They are generated in strips of six that together use all 90 numbers exactly once, and the strip builder has been checked against 10,000 strips with every rule holding.
Make 1 to 100 cards or tickets in one go. The PDF prints grid cards 1, 2 or 4 per US Letter page and tickets 3 or 6 per page, with dashed cut lines and a small label such as “Card 3 of 40” or “Strip 2 - Ticket 5”. Add a title and pick a header colour — or Ink saver — and it prints on every card. Pages are drawn one at a time with a progress line, so even 100 cards keep the page responsive, and a caller sheet with every number or entry in shuffled order and a tick box beside each is added at the end.
