Why convert PNG to JPG?

Does converting PNG to JPG lose quality?
JPG is a lossy format, so the conversion discards some data — how visible the difference is depends on the image and chosen setting. Sharp-edged graphics and small text can show slight softness, and transparent areas are flattened onto white.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The image is processed locally in your browser. Processing time depends on its dimensions, format and your device; large files can exceed the browser’s available memory.
Will compressing reduce image quality?
Compression can remove visible detail. Check the output at full size, especially fine text, edges and gradients. Use a lighter compression level or keep the original when preserving detail is more important than size.
Can I convert many files at once?
Yes. Drop any number of files and each is converted independently — there are no batch limits or daily quotas, because processing runs on your own device.
About this tool
PNG and JPG sit at opposite ends of the image-format spectrum. PNG stores every pixel losslessly, which is why photographs saved as PNG balloon to many megabytes; JPG was engineered specifically for photographs and routinely produces files five to ten times smaller at visually identical quality. Converting to JPG is the standard fix when a PNG photo is too large to email, upload or share — the one trade-off being that JPG has no transparency, so transparent regions become white.
Conversion happens entirely in your browser: each PNG file is decoded locally and re-encoded as JPG using the browser’s own image engine, so nothing is uploaded and the result is ready the moment you drop the file. Batch conversion works the same way — add as many files as you like and download each result individually.
There is no server upload quota, but browser memory, supported formats and device performance limit what can be processed. Large files or batches may fail on a phone. Try a smaller batch or image, and keep your originals.
