How does the “from your name” elf name work?
Like the elf-name charts that go round every December, the first letter of your first name picks your elf first name and your birth month picks your elf surname — for example, in the Boy style a name starting with M and a March birthday gives Marzipan Jingletoes. Your reindeer name comes from the same letter and month. The chart is our own, the same inputs always give the same result, and accented letters count as their plain letter (É counts as E).
Can I use this to name the elf on our shelf?
Yes — lots of families use it to pick a name for their shelf elf before the elf arrives in December. Choose Christmas elf, generate a batch of 5 or 10, and save a few favorites so the children can vote. The names are original to this page and aren’t tied to any brand, book or film.
Are the names family-friendly?
