What should I inspect on a product photo?
Check details that affect how the item is understood: labels, surface texture, stitching, small print and edges. Compression can blur or alter those details. If they matter, use a larger permitted budget or a closer crop rather than accepting a misleading picture.
Is 200 KB guaranteed for every file?
No. The search makes a bounded number of attempts. A result that is still over the target is labelled as such, and you can still download that best-effort file. Unsupported or very large images may fail because browser memory and format support are limited.
How is the target measured?
This tool uses 1 KB = 1,024 bytes, so 200 KB means 204,800 bytes. Some upload forms use decimal KB or a strict “less than” check. Compare their exact byte limit with the result; a file that meets this target may still exceed a stricter limit.
Does reducing file size preserve the original?
The original file is not modified. The download is a newly encoded image; compression may reduce colors, detail or dimensions. It does not preserve the original EXIF metadata. Check the exported copy before sharing it.

A product image can be compact and still fail its purpose if a model number or material detail disappears. A 200 KB budget describes the file, not the amount of visible detail it can guarantee. Inspect the result at the size your audience will use.
