Can a file pass the byte limit but fail the form?
Yes. A form may also check dimensions, format, subject placement or legibility. If compression shrinks a 600 × 600 image to 300 × 300 but the form requires 400 × 400, a small enough file still fails. Check the actual output dimensions.
Is 50 KB guaranteed for every file?
No. The search makes a bounded number of attempts. A result that is still over the target is labelled as such, and you can still download that best-effort file. Unsupported or very large images may fail because browser memory and format support are limited.
How is the target measured?
This tool uses 1 KB = 1,024 bytes, so 50 KB means 51,200 bytes. Some upload forms use decimal KB or a strict “less than” check. Compare their exact byte limit with the result; a file that meets this target may still exceed a stricter limit.
Does reducing file size preserve the original?
The original file is not modified. The download is a newly encoded image; compression may reduce colors, detail or dimensions. It does not preserve the original EXIF metadata. Check the exported copy before sharing it.
About this tool
Two checks matter for an application photo: its encoded byte size and its pixel dimensions. A smaller file is not automatically an acceptable photo. Keep the receiving form’s instructions beside the result when comparing them.
