Frequently asked questions
Does this copy my own handwriting?
No. The text is drawn with ready-made handwriting fonts designed by type designers, not traced from your writing. The realism settings move words and letters slightly off the line, vary the spacing, tilt words and lighten the ink here and there, so the page looks less mechanical — but every letter still comes from the same font, and a close look will usually show repeated shapes.
Can I hand this in as a handwritten assignment?
That depends on your teacher, school or exam board. Many require work to be written by hand, and submitting typed text styled to look handwritten may not be accepted or may break the rules. If handwriting is required, use the pages as a layout guide or copy from them by hand; if it is not, the PNG or PDF is a normal document you can use as you like.
Which fonts are included, and does it support Hindi?
Eight fonts: Caveat, Indie Flower, Kalam, Patrick Hand, Shadows Into Light, Gochi Hand, Reenie Beanie and Homemade Apple. All are free-licensed (SIL Open Font License, and Apache 2.0 for Homemade Apple) and hosted on this site. Kalam includes Devanagari, so Hindi, Marathi and Nepali text is written in Kalam automatically. Caveat covers Cyrillic. Letters none of the fonts contain fall back to your device’s cursive font.
How do I make the writing line up with the rules?
Line spacing is the gap between rules, and every line of text is placed on a rule, so text and lines always stay aligned. Choose 7.1 mm to match college ruled paper or 8.7 mm for wide ruled, then set the text size so the letters fill the space without touching the rule above — around 20–24 pt works for most fonts at 8 mm.
How are long texts split into pages?
The text is wrapped word by word at the right margin, using the real width of each word in the chosen font, and a page ends when its last rule is used. The page count updates as you type. A page never starts with a blank line, and a word too long for one line is split across lines. Up to 60 pages can be previewed and exported at once.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. Wrapping, drawing and the PNG, ZIP and PDF files are all made in your browser. The only thing downloaded is the font file you select, from this site, the first time you use it.
About this tool
The converter writes your text onto a page with a handwriting font, then adds the small imperfections of pen on paper. Baseline wobble lets each line drift and wave slightly instead of sitting perfectly flat; letter spacing jitter nudges letters and the gaps between words; word tilt rotates each word a fraction of a degree; ink pressure variation makes some words and letters lighter, as a ballpoint does. The variation is random but repeatable, so the preview matches the download exactly, and Shuffle variation gives a fresh arrangement.
Four papers are drawn at true size on A4 (210 × 297 mm) or US Letter (8.5 × 11 in): notebook paper with blue rules and a red margin line, lined paper without the margin, graph paper whose grid is sized so the text lands on grid lines, and plain white paper. The optional scanned look places the page slightly askew on a grey scanner bed, with a soft shadow at the binding edge, darker corners and fine paper grain.
Exports are rendered at 200 dpi, so an A4 page is 1654 × 2339 pixels — sharp enough to print at full size. Download the page you are viewing as a PNG, all pages as PNG files in a ZIP, or one PDF with each page as an image at the correct paper size. Because the PDF pages are images, the text in them cannot be selected or searched.
It is useful for notes and study sheets that read more personally than typed text, mock-ups and handwritten-style graphics, worksheets and printables, greeting cards and letters, and trying out handwriting fonts on real paper layouts. It is a font rendered to look handwritten, not a copy of anyone’s hand, and where handwriting is a requirement — as it often is for school assignments — it is not a substitute for writing it yourself.
