How it works
- Drop your PDF onto the tool — it shows how many pages the file has.
- Type the pages to remove in the Pages box, using commas and ranges such as 1, 4-6, 12-.
- Click Delete pages and download the trimmed PDF. Everything you did not list stays in its original order.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I write the pages I want removed?
- Use plain page numbers separated by commas, and hyphens for runs: 3 removes one page, 4-6 removes three, and 1, 4-6, 12- removes page 1, pages 4 to 6, and everything from page 12 to the end. The counter under the box tells you how many pages you have selected before you commit.
- Can I accidentally delete the whole document?
- No. If your selection covers every page the tool refuses to run and tells you to leave at least one, because a PDF with no pages is not a valid file. If you genuinely want a subset rather than a removal, the extract pages tool is the better way round.
- Do bookmarks and links survive?
- Page content, text and images are preserved exactly, but document-level extras such as bookmarks, the outline tree and internal cross-page links are not carried over — the file is rebuilt from the pages you keep. Plain documents, scans and reports come through cleanly; if you rely on a detailed bookmark structure, check it after trimming.
- Is this the same as extracting pages?
- They are two sides of the same job. Deleting is easier when you want to lose a few pages from a long document, and extracting is easier when you want to pull a few pages out of one. Both leave your original file on disk untouched, so you can try either without risk.
- Are my files uploaded anywhere?
- No. The PDF is read, trimmed and rebuilt entirely inside your browser, and the download is generated on your device. Nothing is sent to a server — which is the point, given that the pages people most often want to remove are the ones with information they would rather not share.
About this tool
Scanners add blank backs of pages. Downloaded reports come wrapped in cover sheets and legal boilerplate. Bank statements arrive with pages of terms you do not need to keep. This tool removes them: drop the PDF in, list the pages to delete, and download a clean file with everything else in its original order.
The page syntax handles the messy real cases in one go. Commas separate individual pages, hyphens mark runs, and an open-ended range like 12- means page 12 to the end — so a request such as 1, 4-6, 12- is a single pass rather than three. The tool reads your file first and shows its page count, then tells you how many pages your selection covers, so you can check your arithmetic before anything is written.
Your original file is never modified. The tool builds a brand-new PDF from the pages you keep and hands you that as a download, leaving the file on your disk exactly as it was. If you trim too much, drop the original back in and try again — there is nothing to undo and nothing to recover.
All of this runs in your browser, so the document never leaves your device. That is the sensible default for this particular job: people delete pages from scanned contracts, payslips, tax returns, medical letters and ID copies, and uploading such a file to a free web service just to remove page 2 is a poor trade. Here there is no upload to worry about, and no copy left behind on someone else’s server.
