Frequently asked questions
Why does the grid always have six rows?
Because some months need them. A 31-day month that starts late in the week spreads over six weeks — in 2027, January, May and October do on a Sunday-start calendar. Six rows fit every possible month, so the template works whatever month and year you use it for; leave the spare boxes empty or use them for notes.
What are the small boxes in the corner of each day?
A place to write the date number, so it stays tidy and the rest of the box is free for your notes. Skip them if you prefer to write the number anywhere.
How is this different from the dated monthly calendar?
The dated calendar prints the day numbers and holidays for a specific year. The blank template has no year and no numbers, so it never goes out of date: use it for a future year that is not in the list, for an academic or financial year that starts mid-year, or to plan a generic month such as a rota or cleaning schedule.
Can I print it without the month names?
Yes: choose “1 page, write it in”. The page has a Month line and a Year line at the top instead of a printed name, so the same sheet works for any month.
Does it work as a habit tracker?
Yes. Write the habit at the top, fill in the dates, and tick or colour a box each day you do it; the notes lines underneath are handy for a monthly review. With Ink saver on, the grid photocopies cleanly for a class or group.
About this tool
A blank calendar template is a month grid without the numbers: seven columns for the days of the week, six rows of empty boxes and a small square in each for the date. Because nothing on it belongs to a particular year, it can be printed today and used for any month you like, now or years from now.
Teachers use undated months for classroom calendars that pupils fill in each morning, and for term plans that do not start in January. Managers use them for shift rotas and holiday cover, households for chore charts, meal planning and school activities, and anyone building a habit for a 30-day tracker.
To fill one in, look up the weekday of the 1st of the month, write 1 in the corner box of that column in the top row, and number the boxes onward, wrapping to the next row after the last column. Cross out or shade the boxes before the 1st and after the last day so the month reads clearly.
Choose twelve pages with the month names already printed, or one page to write the month in yourself. The PDF is vector, in colour or ink-saving black and white, on Letter or A4, and it is made entirely in your browser.
