Frequently asked questions

What do the numbers beside each week mean?

They are ISO 8601 week numbers, the system used by most European businesses and planning software: weeks run Monday to Sunday, and week 1 is the week containing the year’s first Thursday. 2027 has 52 of them. January 1–3, 2027 belong to week 53 of 2026, so the first row of January shows 53.

Why is a week number shown on a Sunday-start calendar?

ISO weeks always start on Monday. When your calendar rows start on Sunday, each row is labelled with the ISO week of its Monday, so the Sunday at the start of a row belongs to the previous ISO week. For week numbers that line up exactly with the rows, start weeks on Monday.

What are the circles and underlines on the dates?

A filled circle (or an outline circle in Ink saver) marks a day off for the holiday set you picked. An underlined date is a holiday that falls on a weekend; the list under the calendar shows which weekday is taken off instead, where the rules name one.

Is the text big enough to read on one page?

On Letter or A4 the day numbers print at about 9.5 points, with the week numbers a little smaller — the size of small print in a book: easy to read at arm’s length, not across a room. For a wall planner, scale the PDF up on A3 or tabloid paper; it is vector, so it stays sharp.

Can I use it to plan annual leave or shifts?

Yes: that is what a one-page year is best at. Mark leave, school holidays or rota patterns with highlighters, and use the week numbers to talk about dates the way many workplaces and project plans do. Tick Lines for notes to add a few ruled lines at the bottom.

About this tool

A yearly calendar answers questions a monthly one cannot: how many weeks until the summer holidays, which bank holiday makes the longest weekend, where the gaps are for a trip. This version puts all twelve months of 2027 on one page and adds ISO week numbers, which is how many offices, schools and project plans refer to dates — “week 23” rather than “the week of June 7”.

In portrait the months sit in three columns and four rows; in landscape, four columns and three rows. Under the months comes the holiday list for the set you chose — US federal, England and Wales bank holidays, Canadian federal statutory or Australian national holidays — with each date, so nobody has to count circles.

Printed on Letter or A4, the calendar is a desk or fridge reference. As a vector PDF it also scales cleanly: print it with “Fit to page” on A3 or 11 × 17 in tabloid paper and you have a wall planner, with lines and numbers that stay sharp at the larger size.

Popular uses are leave and holiday planning, school term dates, content calendars, training plans, and a year-at-a-glance page at the front of a binder or bullet journal. The file is drawn entirely in your browser and never uploaded.
